Mossimo Wish Granting Day

June 17, 2006

Giving takes place at any given season.  Neither the cloudy sky nor the Father’s Day Celebration stopped Make-A-Wish® Philippines volunteers and generous corporate partner, Mossimo from granting the wishes of 12 very special children last June 17, 2007.  While most people were probably at home or at the mall that day, we were at Bounce – a lovely place of giant inflatable bouncers, located at Ortigas Avenue Extension, Pasig City. The festive atmosphere boosted the ambience set up for our lovely guests.

Last Christmas season, Mossimo and Make-A-Wish® Philippines came up with a promo involving Mossimo stores nationwide.  A portion of every single receipt purchase in any of these stores went to the Foundation.  A formal turnover of the donation was made last May 8, 2007.  The amount donated was agreed to be spent on wish granting events.

Thanks to the ingenious ideas of the Wish Granting Committee, the event was themed Pirates and everybody was in their improvised pirate garb.  With bandanas and treasure chests all over the place, it was a treasure hunt of a lifetime for the children whose wishes were granted that day.  From the warm welcome of the Bounce team headed by owner Atty. Rich Benito, delicious food, exciting games and the very creative wish treasure hunt, you could see the intense happiness on the faces of the wish children- everything was magic!

The treasure chests revealed 4 motorbikes, 4 Gameboys, 1 dollhouse, 1 Power Rangers showcase, 1 superheroes showcase, and 1 Barbie laptop each were the wish of children with life threatening illnesses.

Mak-A-Wish® Philippines President, Ramon Segovia, handed the Star Plaque of Gratitude to the event donor, Mossimo, represented by Ms. Magnolia David, Marketing Manager of Mossimo Philippines.  Also present in the event was Mr. Alex Bautista, Division Manager for Retail Operations, Rated Oh and Inquirer.

Soon, Mossimo Wishgranting Day 2 event is to take place and once again, the magic and the grandeur of wishes are to be witnessed and experienced by many.
